Improve Well App Launched For Staff At Ysbyty Calon y Ddraig

A new app has been launched at Ysbyty Calon Y Ddraig – Dragon’s Heart Hospital, to gain feedback on potential improvements that would make a difference to patient care and to the working environment.

 

Dr Sue Goodfellow, Community Director for Quality Improvement and Innovation within Primary Care, and Clinical Lead for the Improvement Team has led the work on the app, with the aim of it being a “learning system” for what goes back into Health Board as good practice, Making Tomorrow Better.

 

Sue said: “It’s not always easy to get frontline feedback from staff and contractors as engaging with staff in clinical areas to get this information can be difficult – especially in the midst of Covid-19.

 

“The idea of the app is that people can make improvement suggestions to their working environment in real time, sometimes quickly, whether they are NHS staff or contractors, with an acknowledgement or response through the app, often on the same day.

 

“The app, which is also used at the Excel Nightingale in London, can be downloaded, and by using the code dragon2020 you can quickly sign up.  You don’t need to have an NHS email address to use it. Its user friendly just like sending a text message.

 

“We welcome engagement from all areas of the workforce to capture improvement ideas – the focus is on positive change, not just for now, but in the future.”
